Copper alloy nummus of Constans, as Augustus (AD 337-350) Mint of Rome, 348-50 17/21mm; 2.33g; DA6 Obverse: D N CONSTANS P F AVG; diademed bust left, holding globe Reverse FEL TEMP REPARATIO; soldier leading barbarian from hut Mintmark: R*(P?) Condition: bronze coloured with some wear Reference: RIC VIII, p. 258, no. 140

This is a bronze coloured piece that is not entirely consistent with the normal preservation of site-finds. However, coins were reported to have been found after stubble burning which might account for this preservation after cleaning. Recorded at the South West Fabulous Finds Day 2006, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter.
