A cast copper alloy disc brooch of probable second century AD date. The brooch measures 36.1mm by 34.2mm by 1.9mm and weighs 6.43g. It is circular and flat with four equally spaced circular knops around the edge. The front of each of these is recessed for enamel, traces of which survive. There are four circular holes in the main part of the brooch, each in line with one of the knops. Around the holes a circular border is recessed for enamel, very little of which survives. The area around the holes is also recessed, and there is a further concave depression in the centre of the brooch. All the surviving traces of enamel are now orange in colour. On the reverse of one of the knops are the remains of the hinge for the missing pin. On the back of the knop opposite is the incomplete curving catchplate.
