A small abraded body sherd of Romano-British Black Burnished Ware datable only to the 1st-3rd centuries AD. The fabric is dark grey in colour with a brown-grey internal and brown external surface. Inclusions include frequent fine quartz, moderate angular flint (<3mm), and occasional iron. The surfaces may have a patchy dark grey slip. It is probably of Greyhound Yard variant fabric 1Bi, possibly deriving from the East Devon/South Somerset region during the 1st-3rd centuries AD. The sherd measures 30.23 x 20.80 x 5.67mm thick and weighs 4.68g.
