A complete cast medieval gold stirrup-shaped Finger-Ring. The D-shaped hoop rises to a pointed bezel set with a small rectangular sapphire. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface of the ring at the British Museum indicated a composition in the range of 81-85% gold, 8-10% silver and 5-7% copper. The width is 21mm, the height is 28mm and the weight is 6.48g. Similar rings have been found at West Lindsey, Lincolnshire (Treasure Annual Report 1998-1999, no. 110), and at Norton, North Yorkshire (Treasure Annual Report 2000, no. 98).
