A copper alloy shearboard hook, with two opposing ends (circular to polygonal in section) folded over to form hooks. These widen towards the centre, where there is a flat rectangular moulding decorated with grooves and a central X. Shearboard hooks (harbicks or havettes) were used to attach cloth to a bench for shearing or levelling the nap or pile (Allan 1984, 345).
