KEY (LOCKING)

Unique ID: NMGW354

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Published Find published

Copper alloy watch key fragment decorated with neo-classical designs of reclining individuals. The fragment is worn and no trace of gilding, if it existed, remains. Watch-keys normally hung from a fob chain. Certainly eighteen or nineteenth century in date, possibly an example of a mid-eighteenth century cranked type of watch key.
