A complete cast copper-alloy Roman mount. The three- dimension mount is in the form of an anthromorphic bust, probably depicting Medusa. The face is quite worn but the sunken eyes, rounded nose and pressed lips are still visible. Her hair is wavy and chin length and she has a triangular protrusion at the front of her head. The reverse of the mount is hollow with a circular sectioned rivet protruding from the centre. The length of the mount is 31.4mm, the width is 29.2mm, the thickness is 16.1mm and the weight is 14.71g.
