The cast copper alloy head from a probable trumpet brooch of first to second century date. The fragment measures 15.4mm by 9.1mm by 10.9mm and weighs 2.8g. It comprises a small plain oval head with the stub of a head stud at the top and the loop which held the sprung iron pin in place on the back. Iron corrosion is present within the hole. Traces of tinning or silvering are discernible in some areas.
