A cast copper alloy T-shape brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date. The brooch measures 34.3mm and weighs 7.29g. The measurement across the cylindrical wings is 21.9mm and they have a maximum diameter of 4.5mm. They conceal the iron axis bar for a hinged pin, which is missing, although there is some iron corrosion within the central slot for the pin. Each wing is decorated with two groups of two closely-set parallel vertical ridges. The forward projecting bow is convex, both front and back. The upper part of the bow is decorated with three vertical ridges, one in the centre and one on each edge. These are covered in short parallel incised lines which are horizontal on the central ridge and diagonal on the two side ridges. The bow narrows into the forward projecting foot, behind which is a curving triangular catchplate.
