Copper alloy lamp suspender. The object is a branched suspender, and has a central vertical arm with a loop at the top, and three lower arms splayed below. Each arm would have terminated with a loop, however only one now remains. There is a further loop in the centre of the base. All of the arms are of rectagular cross-section. Objects such as this are thought to be suspenders for lamps, and similar but more robust fittings are known from the top element of medieval censers. A full discussion of probable lamp suspenders is published in Egan, 1998, pp130-133.
