Body sherd from a pottery vessel, not enough survives to indicate the form, probably dating from the medieval period (1300-1450). The sherd is irregular in plan and sub-rectangular in profile. The fabric is a relatively soft fired earthen ware with a number of small angular and sub-angular grit, grog (pottery temper) iron stone and quartz inclusions. The fabric colour is a uniform mid buff orange. There is no glaze or applied surface present, and there is no evidence of sooting or heating in a fire. Not enough of the vessel survives to suggest the size or form of the vessel, and the sherd itself is particularly plough worn and abraded. The dating of the sherd is difficult due to the size and there is a possibility that it may be Romano-British in date. It is similar to some Severn Valley Ware and is relatively soft fired. However, due to the local clay being used later vessels from other periods can have similar fabrics.

The sherd measures 23mm in length, 21.4mm width, is 6.1mm thick and weighs 3.36 grams.
