A probable fragment from a copper-alloy vessel. The fragment appears to contain part of the rim. It is decorated with slight ridges. One surface retains slight traces of silvering or tinning and is also punched with what appears to be a copper-alloy rivet, although this does not actually pierce the inner wall. The reverse has a bar of linear decoration which is filled with rising and declining decoration, forming triangles. Attributing a date to such a fragment can be problematic, but the patina on the piece and the decoration are perhaps suggestive of a Roman date.
