Just over half of a Lower Palaeolithic bi-face handaxe. The suggested date range for this implement is 500,000BC - 300,000BC. The object would originally have been sub-oval. It is fairly simple in form, having been created by the removal of large, broad flakes and shaped to a rough point at end. The flint is heavily patinated and mid orange-brown in colour. The implement measures 92.6mm long by 87.9mm wide and 38.3mm thick; it weighs 291.39g.
