Complete late Neolithic polished flint axehead. The axe is sub-oval in plan and lenticular in section with a curved blade edge. It is made on dark brown flint with a striking, large, circular mid grey inclusion to one side and a smaller grey inclusion to the opposite. The bulb of percussion is not visible. The axe has been knapped with shallow flake removals. A deep flake removal to the butt end of one side may be subsequent damage. The blade edges are clearly retouched. The blade end is polished smooth and the cutting edge is still intact and sharp. The axe is 137.9mm long, 30.22mm wide at the butt end flaring to 56.56mm at the blade edge, 20.5mm thick and weighs 183.10g. It dates from 4000-2000 BC.
