Two joining rim sherds from a wheel-thrown ceramic vessel, dating to the Roman period, between AD 43 - 410 (dimensions: 35mm x 25mm; thickness: 6mm; weight: 7.65g, and 35mm x 21mm; thickness: 6mm; weight: 5.63g). The fabric is black/dark grey and was tempered with quarz and small grit particles. The sherds do not show any trace of decoration or but the outside surface was most certainly burnished. The sherds probably comes from a coarse ware vessel, possibly a small or medium-sized bowl, urn or jar.
