A rim sherd from a wheel-thrown ceramic vessel, dating from the Roman period, between AD 43 - 410 (dimensions: 37mm x 30mm; thickness: 6mm; weight: 10.67g). The fabric is dark grey and was tempered with quarz and small/medium-sized grit particles. The potsherd does not show any decoration on the outside but it has been coated with a black slip. The sherd probably comes from a coarse ware vessel, possibly a medium-sized black-burnished bowl, jar or urn.
