Three sherds of Roman (45-400 AD) Severn Valley Ware pottery. The three sherds probably come from three separate vessels. The fabric of all the sherds is relatively soft and slightly powdery with a number of angular and sub angular quartz, grit, and inclusions. The fabric also contains considerable inclusions of mica / sand. The fabric colour is a mid buff orange and the outer colour is a lighter mid orange. There is not enough of the body of the pot surviving to give an estimation of the depth or overall form/shape or diameter of the vessel. The largest sherd measures 45.6mm length, 43.2mm width, is 7.8mm thick. The smallest sherd measures 23.7mm length, 23.3mm width, is 8.4mm thick. The combined weight of all three sherds is 34.41 grams.
