Late Saxon lead weight, disc (diameter 25mm, 8mm thick) with domed copper alloy stud (diameter 7mm) inserted into centre of upper face, weighs 39.75g, 1.40oz, 613.2grains. Although not of Anglo-Scandinavian form the weight relates particularly well (x 1 ½) to the 'significant' weight of 26.6g identified from 200 examples from Dublin (Mainman and Rogers 2000, Finds from Anglo-Scandinavian York, 2563). See also Kruse in Med. Arch. 1992, 82 and 87.
