Unique ID: LEIC-861EF1

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Published Find published

Medieval copper alloy key, 35mm long, 10mm wide and 3mm thick. The key is in a fair condition with a green patina and weighs 2.6 grams. It is quite worn and consists of a circular suspension loop which has a hole worn through it, giving it a crescent shape. It has a sub circular shaft which tapers slightly and terminates with a sub rectangular protruding bit. This appears to have one nick (or cleft) out of the centre of its upper surface and two out of its lower surface, one biting into the shaft.
