BOW BROOCH

Unique ID: SF-350281

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Copper alloy brooch fragment, probably Colchester derivative type. Lower bow only, bent and corroded. The bow is narrow and rounded, tapering to a blunt point and with no trace of decoration. The large catchplate is pierced with a nearly triangular hole and has a pin groove. Surviving length 34mm, bow width 4mm. This is probably a Colchester derivative type with double lug spring attachment, broadly similar to egs from Pakenham (PKM 005 1408) and Oakley (OKY 005 0069).

Class: Colchester derivative (double lug)
