Post Medieval copper alloy button, 10mm long and 10mm in diameter. The button is in good condition with a brown patina and weighs 1.75 grams. The button consists of a rectangular plate, 6x4mm, which would have had a drilled hole near its end, this is now missing. Above this is a circular domed button which has a pattern formed of elongated bands, some plain some with incised lines intersecting them. This type of button dates to the Tudor period when buttons were extremely popular, especially in the Elizabethan period.
