A copper-alloy stud with a convex head. The head is thin and measures 18.5 x 16.1 mm. The stud measures 20 mm from head to the end of the shaft. The shaft is quite thick at circa 4 mm. It is octagonal in section and expands at its terminal. Similar studs are illustreated in Crummy (1983, 117) and these are thought to have been driven into leather. The stud is quite likely to be Roman in date.
