MOUNT

Unique ID: LON-E9C7D5

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Copper alloy mount, possibly a horse pendant, dating to the Medieval period, circa 14th-15th century AD. The body is scallop shaped, and the knob end is acorn shaped with elaborate grooves/ ridges. The terminal is flared with three distinct parts. The body is decorated with linear grooves and some of the original gold gilding remains in the grooves, and it also appears to have the remains of some red enamel on its body. The reverse which is hollow appears to have some iron staining which could possibly be rivets, although none of the rivets or shanks remain.
