A fragment of a cast copper alloy dolphin brooch dating to the first century AD. The fragment comprises the head and most of the bow. The head possesses semi-circular wings and a prominent overhead hook. The wings extend to an arched triangular section bow with prominent central rib. On the underside of the head, the overhead hook continues to form a semi-circular lug with circular perforation, through which the axis bar would have threaded. The fragment measures 28mm in length; the head 30mm in width and the bow a maximum width of 10mm.
