Anglo-Saxon copper alloy cruciform brooch fragment, 42mm long and 25mm wide. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 10.62grams. The object consists about half of a brooch, the centre of which is an intact rectangular central panel. This is decorated down its long sides with a band of recessed triangles. Above this is part of the bow which is fairly plain except for a band of short incised lines placed between panel and bow. The side wings of the head plate are almost non-existent but they do retain a band of two rows of recessed circles, running parallel to the long edge of the central panel. The brooch terminates with an integral semi spherical top knob. The reverse has a central fixing loop, 10mm wide, which is damaged.
