A sherd of earthenware pottery probably dating form the medieval period (1350 – 1500). It is likely that the sherd is from a domestic storage or cooking vessel. The fabric of the sherds is a relatively hard earthenware with a number of small rounded and sub-angular grit, quartz, iron stone and burnt pottery inclusions. The fabric colour of this sherd is mid grey and the outer surface of the sherd is a mottled light orange colour. This two-tone effect has been caused by low temperatures within the kiln and is typical of early pottery. Due to the smallness of the sherd the diameter of the vessel cannot be estimated. It measures 32.4mm x 36.5mm x 6.8mm and weighs 8.56 grams
