Cast copper alloy buckle with integral loop. Bi-convex head with central knop. Rounded loop which narrows towards the head, circular perforation. Fine dark green patina. Length 17.73mm, diameter of head 10-11mm, width of loop 6.02mm, thickness of loop 2.2mm, weight 3.45g. Egan 2005 publishes an identical button from Abbots Lane, London, dated 1630-50 ('Material culture in London in an age of transition' MoLAS monograph 19, pp49-50, fig 33, no.182).
