A cast copper alloy chatelaine brooch probably dating to the second century AD. The brooch comprises a single cast plate, shaped as a horizontal rectangular base, with a semi-circular section on top. The rectangular base has two circular perforated lugs each pierced by a short section of circular section bar. There is a triangular cut out where the two sections meet. The semi-circular section has three projecting, flat circular lugs with ring shaped cells containing degraded enamel. The upper surface of the brooch is decorated with a geometric design of triangular enamel cells. On the rectangular section of the brooch, there are four rows of six opposing triangular cells running horizontally. The two inner rows are of blue enamel whilst the outer are of yellow. On the semi-circular section, there are two rows of opposing triangular cells, again blue and yellow. On the underside, there are two semi-cirular lugs holding the pin in place. The catchplate is rectangular. The brooch measures 39mm in length and 31mm in width. The brooch is similar to KENT4759.
