Cast copper alloy ornate terret ring. Dates to the late Iron Age-early Roman period 1st century AD. Damaged quatrefoil convex skirt with two integral rivets (each 3.5mm diameter) on the underside. It collars around the top where there is an integral loop. The loop is decorated with 3 perpendicular integral knops which are set equally apart-21mm- one on either side of the loop and one on the top. It would have been connected to a horse's harness pad or yoke for the driving reins to pass through. There are generally two per horse and often decorative.
