FLAKE

Unique ID: KENT-781A02

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Published Find published

Waste flake, probably of late Mesolithic or early Neolithic date due to the quantity of blades and blade cores present at the same find spot. 40% of the surface of the flake is covered in light brown cortex, with large impact ripples on the exposed mid-grey flint. There is a natural hole in the flint with cortex around its edges. The flint is unpatinated and has some post-depositional damage due to agricultural activity (chipped edges). The dimensions are 32.24mm long, 22.34mm wide, 6.49mm thick and weighs 3.81 grams.

Notes:

This flake is in the centre of the lower row in the photograph.
