A fragment of copper-alloy purse frame dating to the late medieval or early post-medieval period. The fragment comprises a curved strip of copper alloy which tapers to a point at one end. The strip is hollow and semi-circular in cross-section. The upper surface is decorated with pairs of diagonal incised grooves forming a series of triangles. The hollow underside of the strip is filled with a brown/white accretion. The object measures 88mm in length,7mm in width and 5mm in thickness.
