Medieval copper alloy buckle frame, probably of mid 14th to 16th century date. The buckle is likely to have been of double oval framed type. The frame has broken with only one of the two loops present and has a surviving length of 17.63mm, width of 21.73mm and weighs 1.6g. The outside edge of the frame has a thickness of 2mm with a flat underside and straight inner-edge. The bar is narrowed and has a diameter of 1.16 – 2.50mm. The frame is likely to have broken on the other side of the bar before the other loop, although it is possible that the frame was of single loop type with curved projections on the inside edge.
