Copper alloy disc brooch of Roman date. The brooch is circular and flat, with a plain edge. There is a plain raised border. The central motif is a ten-pointed star with a raised border. Within each point of the star is a raised dot. In the centre of the star is a raised circular ridge. In the outer recessed area, between the star and the outer border, there are traces of dark/red enamel. Within the star, around the raised dots, there is considerable red enamel surviving. There are no traces of enamel with the central recess within the raised circular ridge. The reverse is flat with the catchplate, spring and pin surviving intact. There are traces of iron corrosion on the spring.
