2 sherds of pottery. One sherd is oxidised to a dull red colour, the other is very dark grey, reduced fabric. Both are tempered with abundant mixed grit and quartzite sand (up to 3 mm). Thick walled rim sherds from jars. The oxidised piece has an wide external bead. The reduced sherd is a cupped rim with a plain edge. Abraded. Identified as Ilchester type gritty ware, 10th to 12th century by Lorraine Mepham.
