An incomplete copper alloy strap distributor of Medieval date c. AD 1000-1300.
The remains of the object consist of a lozenge-shaped terminal with an oval aperture (9.4mm by 8.1mm) and rounded knop on each angle. An arm with a D-shaped cross section extends from the terminal to a rounded collar and then opens out into a damaged sub-circular aperture. The reverse is flat. The distributor has a green and brown coloured patina.
The object measures 46.5mm length, 20.5mm width, thickness 8mm and weight 10.9 grams.
Similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database. Such as WAW-A9F3E6, PUBLIC-DF5720 and WMID-38D662.
