Lithic implements
1, Piercer, Length 25mm, width 15mm, thickness 3mm. Triangular shape, soft hammered bulb on the ventral, flat dorsal, retouch down the left side, mottled off white and blue patina. Date Neolithic.
2, Broken blade, length 10 mm, width 11mm, thickness 2mm. Proximal end, new break, one arise on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral, off white patina. Date, Late Mesolithic.
3, Blade, length 20mm, width 10mm, thickness 2mm. Two arises on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral, dark grey colour. Date, Late Mesolithic.
4, Blade, length 20mm, width 10mm, thickness 2mm. Distal end, new break, Two arises on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral, off white patina, on patina in the break. Date, Late Mesolithic.
5, Miscellaneous retouched piece, length 32mm, width 14mm, thickness 3mm. One arise on the dorsal with 5% cortex soft hammered bulb on the ventral, abrupt retouch on the left. Creamy patina, the retouch has removed the patina. Date Possibly Bronze Age.
6, Thumb nail scrapper, length 14mm, width 13mm, thickness 3mm. Abrupt retouch along the forward edge, uneven dorsal, no bulb on the ventral. Creamy patina on 70% of the dorsal, the rest has a light bluish patina. Date Bronze Age.
7, Core rejuvenation flake, length 40mm, width 16mm, thickness 4mm. Semicircular cross section, with multi-faceted dorsal, soft hammer bulb on the ventral, off white patina. Date Late Mesolithic.
8, Truncated piece (probably from a blade) length 14mm, width 13mm, thickness 2mm. Grey patina, slight retouch down one side. Date Late Mesolithic to Early Neolithic.
9, Miscellaneous retouched piece, length 23mm, width 16mm, thickness 6mm. Multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, bulb missing from the ventral. Short, direct, abrupt retouch on the top and bottom sides. Grey patina, the retouch has exposed the flint, 5% cortex on the left side. Date Possibly Neolithic.
10, Tertiary flake, length 22mm, width 21mm, thickness 5mm. Two arise on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral. Creamy patina with grey patches. Date Mesolithic-Neolithic.
11, End scraper, length 25mm, width 23mm, thickness 8mm. Curved end with abrupt, scaled direct retouch. Grey patina with blue mottling. Date Neolithic.
12, Tertiary flake, length 27mm, width 15mm, thickness 9mm. Multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral. Creamy patina. Date prehistoric.
13, Core, length 39mm, width 22mm, thickness 14mm. . Multiple narrow flake scars on two, 10 % cortex on the surface. Creamy flint with darker mottling. Date Mesolithic.
14, Core rejuvenation flake, length 29mm, width 28mm, thickness 13mm. Multiple flaking scars on the dorsal and ventral. Grey flint with a lighter mottling. Date, possibly Neolithic.
15, Debitage/chips, 11 fragments all about 10mm long, 6mm wide. These are chips from the manufacture of tools. On the whole these have a creamy patina. Date Prehistoric.
16, Debitage. Two fragments, patina covering some of the surface, where broken it ahs exposed a mid grey flint. Date Prehistoric.
17, 6 Primary flakes, average is 25mm long, 12mm wide, 15mm thick. More than 50% cortex most have a creamy patina, no retouch, date Prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.
18, 11 Secondary flakes, average is 31mm long, 25mm wide, 10mm thick. Less than 50% cortex most have a creamy patina with darker mottling, no retouch, date Prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.
19, 21 Tertiary flakes, average is 32mm long, 19mm wide, 7mm thick. No cortex, most have multiple flaking scars on the dorsal. Most have a creamy patina (some are lighter) with darker mottling, no retouch, date Prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.
