An incomplete cast copper alloy terminal from the arm of a rowel spur of post-medieval (later 17th century) date. The terminal has a triangular openwork plate with a triangular and two circular apertures, with three flanking pairs of projections emerging from the sides. At the narrow end of the plate is a scallop-shell shaped terminal with two pierced holes to take the spur hooks. A rusted fragment of one iron spur hook remains in place. The wide end of the plate has a clear break visible to an arm of around 8mm wide which had a plano-convex cross section
See WMID-27A6E4 for a complete example of a spur of this type.
