A complete solid lead possible gaming piece most likely to be of Viking Age date. 16.4mm in height, 18.1mm in width and 16.4mm in thickness. It is roughly pyramidal in shape tapering to a rounded top with a deeply incised cross. It has three vertical moulded ridges running up the sides and terminating in a rounded top, they are not evenly spaced and create a roughly triangular cross-section. The base is flat.
This possible gaming piece may have also, or alternatively, functioned as a Viking weight. It is similar to many objects found at the Viking winter camp site at Torksey.
