Fragment of a Late Saxon buckle with an integral plate, stumps of the missing frame survive at the angles of a rectangular plate, attachment end missing. A drilled hole for the missing pin interrupts the twin grooves bordering the ouer edge of the plate, and there are two surviving rivet-holes containing corroded iron rivets. Traces of engraved decoration comprise a narrow tapering triangular arm projecting from the break to the pin hole crossed by multiple short transverse lines. Extant length 30mm. Extant width 35mm. 3mm thick. Weighs 11.09g. Cf. NMS-A1DECA, NMS-F41519 and NMS-841AA6. 11th century.
