A small flat lozengiform copper alloy fragment 18.7mm in length with, on one side, two large ring-in-dot motifs and on the reverse, a stump of a ridge at one end, probably part of a catchplate. The fragment is bent in the middle.

Probably part of the foot of an early medieval (Anglo Saxon) brooch of small-long type. See HAMP-EAAC20 for a complete example. Cf. MacGregor and Bolick (1993) p145-146, numbers 15.78 and 15.79.
