A lead alloy shot / ball of probable Post-Medieval or Early Modern date (1600-1800 AD) from a pistol.
The shot is spherical, is irregular on its surface with some indents and is an even grey colour. A clear casting line is visible running around its circumference.
it is 13.9mm in diameter and weighs 15.05 grams
Due to the size and weight the ball is most likely to be from a pistol. Musket balls are discussed in Courtney's "Small Arms Accessories of the Mid-Seventeenth Century" (1988) and on page 202 of "Material Culture in London in an Age of Transition" by Geoff Egan (2005)
