A complete flint Thumbnail Scraper of Neolithic date (3450-1500 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in plan and concave-convex in section. The dorsal surface is slightly concave due to a single deep negative scar. There is a small amount retained cortex on the proximal and distal right-hand edge. The proximal edge has been abruptly blunted, while all other edges have short parallel flaking and semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly convex due to a small bulb of percussion with multiple negative scars over it, situated at the proximal end. The lithic retains a minor amount of cortex and is therefore a secondary flake.
