A complete flint Thumbnail Scraper of Neolithic date (3450-1500 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in plan and plano-convex in section. The dorsal surface is predominantly flat with a single negative scar. There is short parallel flaking along the distal and distal right-hand edge. There is semi abrupt retouch to the distal and right-hand edges. The proximal edge has been abruptly blunted. There is retained cortex along the left hand and proximal right-hand edge. The ventral surface is slightly convex with shallow ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end and a shallow negative scar over a portion of the bulb. The lithic retains minor amounts of cortex and is therefore a secondary flake.
