A Medieval copper-alloy stirrup-shaped finger ring, dating to c.AD 1150 - 1500. The ring has a narrow circular cross-section hoop that expands along the top edge to form a low pointed bezel with gentle sloping shoulders. The setting on top of the bezel is a purple coloured glass cabochon.
Close parallels to this example include: OXON-CFC3C9 and SF-DC876D. These finger ring appear to have been popular in the 13th century; however the date range can stretch from c.1150 to c.1500 (Egan and Pritchard, 2002:326).
