An incomplete copper-alloy Brooch of Roman date (AD 100-200). The object is a British Plate brooch and is disc-shaped in plan and flat in section. Within the central portion of the plate are the abraded remanets of very worn enamel. The design is largely obscured by abrasion, abut is curvilinear in form, currently similar to a pelta shape. The reverse is flat and undecorated. Projecting from the top edge is a pin mounting comprising two projecting lugs with a circular-sectioned pin bar joining them. On the lower edge is a partially retained rectangular catch plate. The pin is missing.
