A copper-alloy sword belt fitting of post-medieval date (c.AD1500-1700)
The object is sub-triangular in plan, comprising a flat curvilinear plate with splayed bifid terminals to either end, wider at the top than the bottom. The hook at the bottom terminal has been lost. This object, along with two others would have hung from a mount. Two small perforations are piecerd along the centre of the object, one at the top and one at the bottom. The plate is decorated on the front surface with a moulded foliate design in relief. The reverse of the mount is undecorated. The object has a dark-green patina.
