A copper-alloy miniature axe head of probably Roman date. The obect is rectangular in section and had a narrow butt and flat terminal. The butt widens with straight edges to a convex cutting edge. At the butt end the eye is rectagular and cast as part of the object. In the middle of the side of the blade a circular hole has been drilled through from one side after casting.
