A round halfpenny of Alexander III (1249-1286), long cross and stars coinage, as kindly identified by the finder, Seaby (1972) no.5061. The finder kindly supplied the i-phone photographs illustrating this record. 

Obverse description: Bust left with sceptre before face, initial cross pattee

Obverse inscription: +ALEXANDER DEI GRA

Reverse description: long cross, two six-pointed stars with central pit in alternate angles.

Reverse inscription: REX/SCO/TOR/VM+

Diameter: 15mm, Weight: 0.68gms, Die Axis: probably 3
