An incomplete copper alloy button dating to the post medieval period, c. AD 1500-1700.
The button would have originally been circular in shape and flattened in section. Approximately 50% of the button now survives. It is an openwork design, composed of three large apertures in the centre and four smaller circular apertures which are preserved in full. Between these is a swirling design which is composed of laureate style leaves and circular rings. It is reminiscent of Read (2016) No's 231 and 275 which are dated from the 15th to 17th centuries.
