A copper alloy fragment of a Roman Langton Down brooch dating from AD 25 - 60. The lower bow and catchplate are missing. The spring is held on an iron axis bar enclosed within a cylindrical spring case and it has an external chord. The bow has a curved top, and is reeded. There are traces of a white metal coating. The break is patinated. The object has a weight of 5.86g, a length of 23.3mm, a width of 14.7mm and a thickness of 7.0mm. Compare examples from plate 20 of Mackreth (2011) but too little survives to assign it to a group.
